Concrete driveway contractors in Lake Elsinore
We repair cracked concrete driveways in Lake Elsinore, and we tear out and pour new ones when a repair will not last.
Small driveway cracks can often be repaired. Large shifting areas, or damage spread across the whole slab, usually call for a new driveway, and that is the one we tell you plainly on the first visit.
We quote the whole job before we start, with no surprise charges after.
Driveway repair and replacement work
We seal and patch driveway cracks, replace the sections that have failed, and pour complete new driveways. Here is the driveway work we take on:
Cracked driveway repair
Small, stable cracks are cleaned out, sealed and patched so water stays out of the slab and the driveway you have keeps working.
Failed section replacement
When one area has broken up, sunk or heaved and the rest is sound, we cut out that section and pour it back to meet the slab around it.
Driveway replacement and new driveways
When the damage runs across the slab, we tear out the old driveway and pour a new one on a fresh base, which does more for curb appeal than any patch.
What it costs
How driveway work is priced
We price driveway work by the damage and the area it covers: a patch costs far less than a section, and a section far less than a new driveway.
The cost of fixing or replacing a driveway depends on how severe the damage is, so from the smallest job to the biggest it runs like this:
- Seal and patch cracks
The low end. Patching minor cracks and holes is relatively cheap.
- Replace a failed section
Priced by the area we cut out and pour back, plus hauling the old concrete away.
- Pour a new driveway
$6 to $12 per square foot
That is the typical range for a standard broom-finish concrete driveway in Lake Elsinore, and a standard two-car driveway typically runs $2,500 to $5,000. Size, access and removing the old driveway set where yours falls.
Free, no-obligation estimates. Your exact figure comes from seeing the driveway, never from a guess.
Built from the base up
Base, rebar and mix strength for a driveway
We compact the base, set the rebar on chairs at mid-depth and order a mix of at least 4,000 PSI, because a driveway carries cars and most of what makes concrete last is the work underneath it.
Every new driveway we pour goes in these four steps:
- Dig out and compact
We excavate to firm ground, plan where the water drains and compact the base to the trade’s “Proctor density” standard before the forms go in.
- Form and reinforce
Forms set the shape, and #4 or #5 rebar goes on chairs at mid-depth, tied where the bars cross, so the steel sits inside the slab instead of on the dirt.
- Order the right mix
A sidewalk gets by on a 3,000 PSI mix, but cars ask more of a slab, so we never pour a sidewalk mix under a driveway. The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association publishes guidance on mix strength.
- Pour, finish and cure
We place and finish the slab, cut the “control joint” lines that make shrinkage cracks run straight, and spray a “curing compound” so it holds moisture while it gains strength.

More driveway questions
These questions sit right next to driveway work, and each one points to the page that answers it in full.
Driveway cracks and when to repair them
Small driveway cracks take a sealant, while wide or spreading cracks point to movement under the slab that needs a real repair. Driveway cracks come from weather, vehicle traffic and tree roots growing under the slab.
Resurfacing a sound but worn driveway
A driveway that is structurally sound but worn can take a bonded “overlay”, a thin new top layer, instead of a new pour.
Lifting a sunken driveway section
A sunken driveway section in good condition can be lifted back to level instead of replaced, which the trade calls “slabjacking”. A slab with too many cracks may need replacing instead.
Straight answers
Driveway cost and hiring questions
The questions we hear on almost every driveway call, answered the way we answer them on the phone.
How much would a 20x20 concrete driveway cost?
A square driveway that size is about what a standard two-car driveway covers, and in Lake Elsinore a standard two-car driveway typically runs $2,500 to $5,000.
The finish you pick moves it within that range, and we give you the exact figure free once we have seen the driveway.
What is the average cost to install a concrete driveway?
Installing a standard broom-finish concrete driveway in Lake Elsinore typically runs $6 to $12 per square foot.
Project size, access and removing the existing driveway set where yours falls, and on a tear-out the removal goes in our quote up front.
How to find a reliable concrete contractor?
Ask what concrete strength they order: 3,000 PSI is fine for sidewalks, but a driveway needs at least 4,000. Then ask about the work underneath, because most of what makes concrete last is the excavation, compaction, drainage and vapor barrier.
Last, ask whether the quote covers the whole job, so nothing gets added once the work starts, the way our free, no-obligation estimates do.
